Google Calendar App available on Google Play Store

You can now track life's important events with Google Calendar app for Android devices too. Yes, you heard it correctly, Google has finally announced the Google Calendar App that is available for download via the Google Play store. The app was previously available only on selected Android devices like Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S.

With the Google Calendar app, I can now manage all my calendars in one place also those from Google accounts. And, I can even synchronize non-Google calendars to my Android smartphone. It also allows to crate, delete, and edit events along with responding to invitations.

The app also comes with features like the ability to snooze events directly with a notification, which you want to be reminded later. An important feature for professionals to quickly email event guests with predefined messages like 'I will be late' from a notification or event. Another option to pinch zoom in and zoom out of a day and set a home time zone for easy time management while travelling.

Google has also increased the sync period so that users can review past events of up to one year ago on their devices. Downloading the app requires devices to run Android 4.0 (Jelly Bean). So, if you are amongst the one who prefer Google's version instead of the default calendar apps, just hit Google Play to download the app. Just keep a note that Google also said that the app has some issues and may not function properly on some HTC devices.
